Words & Letters
We help your kindergartener participate in conversation on a variety of topics; support asking and answering questions, reading aloud and developing writing skills; encourage expressing thoughts, feelings, and ideas through individual and group discussion. Activities such as writing their name and simple letters to friends and family, retelling stories, identifying words and using them in meaningful ways ensure us that children aren't merely memorizing letters and imitating sounds but building vocabulary, phonemic awareness, writing, and reading readiness.
Brain Building
We provide kindergarten age-appropriate experiences with technology, earth science, life science and physical science; opportunities for children to make queries, test hypotheses, investigate properties, explore scientific phenomenon and make profound discoveries by classifying and charting scientific properties of items, exploring animals live or online and observing them in their environments, using tools to explore concepts of magnetic force, participating in long-term scientific experiments, interacting with varied types of technology including microscopes, cameras, computers, audio recorders.
StartArt
The children learn about tempo, tone and volume in music, and are exposed to music from various cultures, hearing and replicating complex musical beats and rhythms. They participate in sequenced movement activities such as dancing, explore the work of famous artists and experiment with different styles. We enhance confidence through dramatic play - assigning roles, using costumes, and setting the stage for plays.
Children create detailed drawings with multiple elements and express thoughts and ideas through creative writing.
My World
We prepare kindergarteners to live a responsible, meaningful and fulfilling life while developing their emotional intelligence, citizenship, and social skills, such as making items to donate to local charities or participating in community service projects, exploring world cultures online or in books, using negotiation and conflict-resolution skills when interacting with peers, interacting with classroom visitors and setting up a classroom recycling station.
Wellness
Physical health and development are as critical to a child’s learning ability as any other area of development. Our kindergarten teachers ensure children are engaging in daily activities that advance their understanding of wellness, nutrition, and safety, such as exploring, discussing, and charting foods and food groups, establishing safety rules while playing on the playground and other common areas, using balls, scooters, jump ropes and hula hoops to build coordination, taking pulses and learning how physical activity helps the heart and muscles.
Cookie and Friends
Oxford story-based English course with a rich package of resources that are practical and fun - posters, flashcards, a puppet, CD-ROM and Audio CD. The delightful stories are brought to life through the beautiful A4 story cards. Plus - the tear-out worksheets develop pre-reading and pre-writing skills as well as language learning. The course is divided into six main units: Colours, Toys, Body, Clothes, Pets and Food. Five shorter festival units are introduced at the appropriate time of the year: Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day, Birthdays and Holidays.
